Process Control with a Sense of Humor

so my friend and colleague sent this to me with the note "saw this and thought of you"

The text reads:
In Amsterdam, the tile under Schiphols urinals would pass inspection in an operating room. But nobody notices the tiles. What everybody does notice is that each urinal has a fly in it.
Look harder and the fly turns into a black outline of a fly, etched into the porcelain. It improves the aim. if a man sees a fly, he aims at it. Research found that the etchings reduce the spillage by 80%. It gives a guy something to think about.

That's the perfect example of Process Control.

New year

... and I still can't bring myself to write anything.

Birthdays in the Office

So Birthday Season is coming up, (at least for me) and now that most of us work from home, those office birthday parties are a thing of the past.

SO... mostly that's a good thing, but at least there was cake:

Just FYI....

For those who don't know, I live with someone who is BiPolar, possibly borderline personality, ADD, an addict, and OCD. This is strange and difficult. Brain disorders are.

A Diagnosis helps a bit, but it's still HIM, and he's very weird.

For help understanding see:
This post: A Wife's Story on BiPolar blog

Housekeeping - the strange Aunt is - for sure - bipolar. That movie is not on DVD , too bad.

The character played by Tom Wilkinson in Michael Clayton. THAT'S what he's like. Watch the whole movie, not just the clips, and pay attention to the scene where he's carrying the bread loaves, the slipping from sane to crazy and back and forth. It's well done, and great depiction.

Or this Small movie by Steven Fry:

My VPN connection is down

...which means my blood pressure is up.

Raj, and Kamir a t the help desk have assured me: "we are working very diligently to resolve this problem. I am sure it will be resolved soon."

Soon.

Which could mean anything, really.
